ARCHES New Faculty Peer Cohorts are unique Peer-Mentorship Circles comprised of early-career research faculty across schools at UCSF. All ARCHES New Faculty Peer Cohort members are faculty members that were recently hired and were provided significant start-up funding from their school or department. ARCHES aims to establish yearly cohorts, with the goal of providing support, resources, and a sense of community. The first cohort, ARCHES 23, was a pilot with engagement with the School of Nursing, School of Pharmacy, and two departments in the School of Medicine (Emergency Medicine and Family and Community Medicine).
The purpose of these cohorts is to enhance retention by facilitating connections among cohort members, their peers, the ARCHES community and core faculty, and UCSF leadership. Cohort members have the opportunity to discuss their needs and challenges, network, receive sponsorship, and participate in personalized peer- and near-peer mentorship and guidance. Additionally, the cohort receives administrative assistance with scheduling program-related meetings and events.
